Christ the King Lutheran Church Saturday 6/6/2026 5:30 pm. Sunday 6/7/2026 9:30 am. Our Gospel for this week centers around Jesus calling Saint Matthew the tax collector. Jesus says, “Follow me.” And so it is. The larger context of Jesus calling Matthew to be His Apostle and great Evangelist, is a tour de force of Jesus using His divine power to heal and to exercise His power over creation and to strengthen weak faith and to forgive sins and to cast out demons and to destroy the power of Satan and evil in the world. And all these great wonders of power and authority in service to you, dear friend. “Those who are well have no need of a physician but those who are sick. Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” Come and hear His Word, confess you sin and your Savior, and partake of His body and blood for the forgiveness of sins.
