Tonight and tomorrow at Christ the King Lutheran Church 5:30 Saturday 9:30 Sunday. We return to the upper Room with Jesus and His Apostles. He tells them the Truth about Himself as Lord and only Savior and promises them the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. In just a few hours He will arrested, unjustly judged, and crucified. Yet, it is in His cross and death that He is glorified by the Father. Not only so. He rises from death to go to the Father and to prepare your place with Him forever. He will come again and He does not leave us as orphans in this world of sin and death. He sends “another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of Truth…” In fact, says Jesus, “I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.” The Law of God, kept perfectly for you by Jesus Christ, becomes for you an act of love and a denial of self as you follow Jesus. By Holy Spirit power in Jesus’ Word you keep the commandments of God and are loved by Him and Christ manifests Himself in you. The work of the Holy Spirit is to call you to repent of your indolence and indifference and to gladly hear and learn the Word of Christ. See you at CTK in Word and Sacrament this Saturday and Sunday.
